What do you think of the Philippines since your last visit here when you've conducted a Jiu-Jitsu Seminar with the DEFTAC guys?
I can't wait to go see the town; I mean I've already planned out. I'm going to ask my guys over here to take me to a Kali School, or somewhere where I can see some Stick Fighting. I hope so. I just arrived, but it's good. I just arrived this morning. You guys should move closer to us. Everybody should jump in the water and push the Philippine islands closer to America. (laughs)
Would you conduct another seminar if given the chance?
Of course, I got to talk to Alvin about that. I've heard he's been pulling up some shows, and maybe we can come in and watch the show. So, I love to come back more often.
I believe you've also trained the FBI if I'm not mistaken?
A lot of different law enforcement agencies. From the Army and so on.
What are you teaching them particularly?
Gun retention, a lot of gun retention, how to keep their guns, because most of the police officers gets killed with their own gun.
We've seen you strike and throw knees and kicks from your recent fights. In the good old UFC days before MMA has developed, would you incorporate then what you're doing today in your game rather than just Jiu-Jitsu?
Oh yes, it's not one style anymore, now it's ... I mean Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is the foundation of my game, but I got to know what's coming at me, so I got to learn some stand-up stuff.
Do you have a scheduled fight any time sooner in the near future?
Not yet, no.
Would you consider a rubber match with Kazushi Sakuraba?
Well we've already fought twice, so whatever the promoters think that the crowd wants to see, I mean ... I'm pretty open, I'm a fighter. That's what I do for a living.
If given a chance, would you accept a rematch with Matt Hughes?
How is your relationship now with your family, particularly your father GM Helio? Do you guys still roll together?
I just got back from Brazil, he's in Brazil, and he showed me a couple of things for Shootfighting.
Thank you very much for your time.
