2013 POC-PNG National Games


The Greco-Roman and Women's Wrestling results of Wrestling's first day in the 2013 Philippine National Games are here in this Philippine Star-Sports news! From the article.

"In Greco-Roman Wrestling at the Robinsons Place-Manila, national elite athletes Margarito Angana Angana and Jason Balabal ruled the Greco-Roman 55kgs and 84kgs events, respectively.

Other Wrestling winners were Jose Romulo Terio of Zamboanga City (66kgs), Ismael Trazona of Mandaluyong City (74kgs), Noel Norada of Quezon City (60kgs), Erwin Mariñas of Mandaluyong City (96kgs), and Abdonavid Gharibi, also of Mandaluyong City (120kgs).

In the women's freestyle, Kristine Jambora (44kgs), Maribel Angara (51kgs), Richelle Piollo (48kgs), Minalyn Foy-os (55kgs), Ma. Cristina Vergara (59kgs), and May Rose Marinas (63kgs) were the other winners.

From the article: "Alvin Lobreguito and Johnny Morte headed the victors in Freestyle Wrestling during the meet backed by Ayala Corp., Summit Mineral Water, Tea Monkey, STI Colleges, LBC, 7-Eleven, Milo, Procter and Gamble, Standard Insurance, Delos Santos Medical Center, Orchid Garden Suites, Puregold, and Palm Plaza Hotel."

"Lobreguito, a top SEA Games prospect from Quezon City, subdued Rodolfo Falcasantos of Zamboanga City in the 55kgs class while Morte, who is also seeking a slot in the competition in Myanmar, downed national youth ace King Bryan Guigona in the 60kgs finals."

"Also showing off their prowess on the mat in the freestyle event were Zamboanga's Joseph Angana (66kgs) and Mandaluyong's Kristan Anonuevo (84kgs), Erwin Marinas (96kgs), and Abdonavid Gharibi (120kgs). Joshua Sapinoso, a 20-year-old Fil-Am Wrestling find from Newbury, California, won two golds after topping the junior and senior classes of the 74kgs class at the expense of 2007 SEA Games silver medallist Alven Aragon."
